About Suzy Gulliver
Since 2013, Suzy Gulliver, PhD, has served as founding director of the Warrior's Research Institute, a division of S&W Healthcare System. Based out of Waco, Texas, Dr. Gulliver oversees this endeavor that studies how veterans and first responders respond to traumatic experiences in order to develop better therapies. Since starting this project, she has served as an ad hoc reviewer for the American Journal of Addictions and sat on committees for the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism and for the Department of Veterans Affairs' Rehabilitation Research and Development Service. Moreover, Suzy Gulliver, PhD, mentors students at Texas A&M Health Science Center.
Dr. Gulliver obtained a master of arts in clinical psychology from Connecticut College and a doctor of philosophy in clinical psychology from the University of Vermont. She completed the first part of her clinical training at West Haven VA Medical Center and at the University of Vermont's Department of Psychology before earning a post-doctoral fellowship at Brown University's Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies. Subsequently, Suzy Gulliver, PhD, held hospital appointments and academic positions at several medical facilities and universities. Immediately preceding her current tenure, she served as director with the VISN 17 Center of Excellence for Research on Returning War Veterans.
